The Illinois Concealed Carry Class will require 16 hours of Firearm training. If you have had previous firearm training up to 8 hours of that training will be applied toward your Illinois Conceal Carry Class. If you are an Honorably Discharged Veteran, a copy of your DD214 will credit you with 8 hours. If you have taken the Illinois Hunter Safety Class, a copy of your certificate also will credit you with 4 hours toward the Illinois Conceal Class.
Another example is if you have taken the Utah or Florida Concealed Carry class and received your permit that credits you 4 hours each towards the Illinois Conceal Carry Class.
In addition, to qualify for the Illinois Conceal Carry Permit live fire will be required to obtain your license. You will have to shoot 30 rounds at a B-27 target, 10 rounds at 15 feet, 10 rounds at 21 feet, and 10 rounds at 30 feet. To pass the range part you must hit the target 21 times as required to obtain your Illinois Concealed Carry Permit. You will be responsible for range fees, and you will have to supply your own firearm and ammunition. The Guardian Group LLC will provide the B-27 targets.
